I like bugs. I think it’s a great hobby and a fun way to meet people.
1. I have a 67 with a 37 ford nose on it that’s my daily beater.
2. I also have a second car that is a 67 also with a 37 ford nose that I turned into a full blown woody wagon, with steam bent panels and roof rafters.
3. My third car is a 1960 karman kabrolett convertible .
I think that bugs in general are just really cool cars .They’re cheap easy to maintain fun to drive and bring smiles and fond memories to people I meet. I find VW owners are low key down to earth friendly and always willing to lend encouragement and share their knowledge to help each other keep their cars rolling.
I would like to see regular cruise nights , gatherings , show and shine things dont have to be formal . All of us are spread out but everyone should try to explore and gather as much as possible in the other guys back yard. Bugs were meant to be driven get in get out and go. Start a chain mail when you make freinds call . Make plans let us know if you plan on going here or there , see whos around , fun is better when shared check out the local parks some are more than worth the trip tailgating is not just for football.
I have been to may shows bugs don’t leave you stranded you can always get home. VW owners are the nicest people no matter where they’re from. When it comes to bugs everyone has a story a fond memory. When it comes to keeping them alive knowledge is good ,a good mechanic ok better , but a friend who is another VW owner with knowledge and experience cant be beat.
